Well, I am a proud mother of a four week old. I must admit the first couple of weeks were tough. It is very humbling to be entrusted with teaching a new human. That said, I feel my baby girl teaches me much more than I will ever teach her. I am extremely honored to be a member of the mommy set.

So this weekend, I say weekend because depending upon the ultrasound we had three different due dates, the baby is due. Mine has technically, not been a difficult pregnancy. There has been no "real" illness, but there have been lots of the "minor" inconveniences.

I am now shifting from the world of -ugh- late, 30-something, professionals to mommy. Due to a miraculous constellation of events, I have decided to 'opt out' or as author Pamela Stone of Opting Out? Why Women Really Quit Careers and Head Home prefers "silent strike".

Shopping for a newborn which is on the way should be fun. To be honest, it is stressful. Between the safety regulations and the cost, you feel completely inadequate to make any decision. Luckily we have three more months.
