Sharpened Number Two Pencils

Today was my first day returning to "work." (Hah, like the past 10.5 weeks weren't work.) I am consulting. Just 10 hours a week. But boy, with a baby, cloth diapers, a dog and a husband, finding two hours to do "work" was impossible. For a type A personality like me, the fact that baby is in charge, and I can't get a handle on how to systematize is mind boggling. Now I can bore you with the details of motherhood, but I won't. All I'll say is that my day is primarily spent feeding, cleaning poop and snuggling Ems. One and three are not bad.

What would I do without him

This is a shout out to my husband. My husband let me sleep last night. With a 10 week old breast-fed baby, sleep is priceless. I was able to sleep for five hours in a row. (The fact that baby girl is able to sleep longer helps too.) Sleep helps, and he gave me that last night, and I am grateful. So here's to husbands that you sleep!

The Business of Mommies

So I have been a mommy for nine weeks now. I must admit it is way harder than being a nanny. (Something I was in the late 90's). I am exhausted all the time. (Baby girl still does not sleep through the night.) I am also way busier than I was working.
